Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

Archbishop Carlson issued a letter to all pastors regarding changes in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).  Further below, you will find his guidelines which are mandatory across the Archdiocese of Saint Louis.   I encourage you to read through them.

Within our parish, we will implement these by taking the following steps:

  • Distribution of Precious Blood is suspended.
  • The Sign of Peace is suspended.
  • Receiving Holy Communion in the hand is strongly recommended.
  • Those who desire to receive on the tongue are to receive Holy
Communion from the priest-celebrant or concelebrant, only.
  • Holy water fonts have been emptied.

Please consider the following:

  • It is not a sin to miss Mass due to illness.
  • It is not a sin to refrain from taking Holy Communion as the Church only requires you to receive once per year.
  • You should not attend Mass or any church activities if you feel sick or if you are in a high risk group, as defined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC):
    • Older adults, with the risk increasing with age
    • Heart disease
    • Diabetes
    • Lung disease
    • Compromised immune system
  • The Sunday 10:00 am and weekday 8:00 am Masses at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis are now streamed over the internet to allow you to participate at home.  Click here to watch those Masses.
  • The Sunday 10:00 am Mass is carried on Covenant Network (WRYT AM 1080 / KHOJ AM 1460) at 10:00 am.
  • Whether you are watching or listening to the Mass, we invite you to receive Spiritual Communion by saying the following prayer during Communion:

    Spiritual Communion Prayer

    My Jesus,
I believe that You are truly present
    In the most Blessed Sacrament.
I love You above all things
And I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I am not able at this moment
    To receive You sacramentally,
I ask that You spiritually enter into my heart.
I embrace You and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
