Special Collection Update

  • Today, the Archbishop is asking each of us to “Restore a St. Louis Treasure.”
  • It is a treasure that truly belongs to all of us in the Archdiocese.
  • The “Parish of St. Louis” on the Mississippi Riverfront was established in 1776.
  • Now referred to as the Old Cathedral, it is the foundational home of our faith.
  • The first Cathedral of the Archdiocese, the seat of faith for Bishops Rosati, Kenrick, Kane.
  • To its doors hundreds of religious men and women came to establish their ministries in the Midwest.
  • From its doors hundreds of missionaries went to the Western Territories.
  • Their grand historic treasure is in need of a major restoration.
  • This restoration will assure a place of dignity and beauty—for our Catholic heritage—in the St. Louis region, on the renewed riverfront.
  • Please prayerfully consider a generous donation.
