180th Anniversary of Dedication of the Old Cathedral Church

On Sunday, October 26, we commemorate the Solemn Dedication of the Basilica of Saint Louis, King Church. It was 180 years ago on this date: October 26, 1934, this this beautiful Old Cathedral was sanctified as a house of worship for all faiths in the city of Saint Louis.

Plan on joining us at any of the Sunday Masses this weekend:
Sunday Vigil 5:30 PM
Sunday Mass Schedule - 8:00 and 10:30 AM, 12 NOON and 5:00 PM

In addition, the Collegium Vocale of St. Louis is proud to present Celebrate Saint Louis! A Concert of Sacred French Music in honor of the 250th Anniversary of the founding of the city of Saint Louis. The concert will be presented Sunday, October 26, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM here at the Basilica of Saint Louis, King (Old Cathedral). Admission to the concert is free and parking on our adjacent church lot is also free.

We are excited to host this program here in the resplendent beauty of the newly renovated Old Cathedral, which holds a special place in our local history. The recent nine-million dollar renovation of the Basilica of Saint Louis, King (Old Cathedral), on the Mississippi riverfront, included careful repairs and replacement of interior and exterior treatments with special attention to original design elements. It is no coincidence that this concert is scheduled on this date, which marks the 180th Anniversary of the Solemn Dedication of the Old Cathedral church: October 26, 1834.

Please help us publicize this unique concert where all are welcome!
